It was interesting to read that most mergers and acquisitions have a high failure rate because of human factors. This means that it is advantageous for leaders to demonstrate the following 5 integrated behaviours to help create a competitive advantage for the organization:

1. Share a compelling and clear purpose

2. Look ahead and see opportunity

3.Seek out what's not working

4. Promote calculated risk-taking and experimentation

5. Look for boundary- spanding partnerships
